Privacy policy

This privacy policy is for the Android app “Hand and Foot Table” on Google Play (store title “Hand and Foot Table: Canasta”; in Spanish “Hand and Foot: Mano y Pie”; package com.handfoottable.app) and its browser version at handfoot.cleanscreenapps.com, published by the developer Clean Screen Apps.

There are no accounts. Games against the computer are played only on your phone. Online tables with family and friends send the minimum needed to play to our game server on Cloudflare, and are deleted after 30 days without play. Effective 2026-11-05.

Games against the computer don’t use the internet. Your games, settings and house rules are stored only on your phone and are never sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes them. If Android backup is on, Android may include this data in your own Google account’s device backup.

When you create a table or join one with a code, the app sends the game server (run on Cloudflare, Inc., which operates the network and hosts the server): the display name you type, an anonymous random device ID the app creates (not your advertising ID or phone number), and your moves. Other players at the table see your name and your moves. We use this data only to run the game: deal, show the moves to everyone and reconnect you. There are no accounts, no chat (only preset reactions), and we never ask for your location. Tables, with their names and moves, are deleted after 30 days without play. Like any web server, Cloudflare receives your IP address to deliver the data; we don’t store it with the table.

If you allow notifications, the app gets a push token for your phone from Expo’s push service (650 Industries, Inc.), which delivers through Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging, and sends it to the game server with your table’s language. When it’s your turn and the table isn’t open on your phone, the server sends a short note (“Your turn” and the table code) through Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging. The token is never shown to other players. You can turn notifications off in Android settings any time.

Family without the app can join a table from a web browser at handfoot.cleanscreenapps.com (also on Cloudflare). The browser sends the same things as the app (the display name, an anonymous random device ID and the moves) and keeps that ID and the table pass in the browser’s own storage. The browser version shows no ads and sends no notifications. Clearing the site’s data in the browser removes them.

When you leave a table (“Leave table” in your seat menu), your name, device ID and push token are removed from it right away and a computer player takes your seat. When the last person leaves, the table is deleted. Otherwise it is deleted by itself after 30 days without play.

Type only a first name or nickname your table will recognize. Don’t put personal details in the name.

The free version shows a banner ad from Google AdMob. Google may collect your device’s advertising ID, approximate IP-based location and usage data to serve and measure ads. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. To fill the banner, Google AdMob may also ask these ad partners to bid for it: Liftoff Monetize, formerly Vungle (https://liftoff.ai/privacy-policy/) and InMobi (https://www.inmobi.com/privacy-policy). When they do, they may receive and collect your device’s advertising ID, device information (such as model, Android version, language and screen size), approximate location based on your IP address, and your interactions with the ads (such as views and taps). This data is shared with these partners so they can serve, measure and fraud-check ads, under their own privacy policies linked above. The consent choices described above apply to them too.

If you buy “Remove ads”, Google Play processes the payment. We never see your card or payment details; the app only asks Google Play whether your Google account owns the purchase and remembers the answer on your phone. If you recommend the app from Settings, the date your 30 days without ads end is also stored only on your phone.

The app is made for adults and families and is not directed to children under 13.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
